Decision on Asian Qualification Tournaments for the 2008 Olympic Games

The IHF Council decided today in Paris to replay the Asian Qualification Tournaments for both men and women for the 2008 Olympic Games. These will be held before the end of January 2008. The organisation and technical details of the tournaments will be under the full responsibility of the IHF and further information will be released within the next 72 hours. IHF President Dr Hassan Moustafa commented that "we have come to a positive conclusion for the sport of handball, which follows on from the huge success of the Women's World Championship in Paris."

-（和訳）- 2008年オリンピック　アジア予選の決断 本日パリにおいて、IHF理事会は2008年北京オリンピックの男女アジア予選を再試合すると決定した。再試合は2008年1月末日までに行われる。大会運営及び競技の詳細は、IHFの管理下（全責任）におかれる。また、詳しくは72時間以内にお知らせする。 IHF会長ハッサン・ムスタファは、「パリで開催された女子世界選手権の偉大な成功を受けて、我々はハンドボールのために前向きに決断をした。」と、コメントした。
